Spawn Theory

Each time a Rank S dies in Endwalker Zones, it has a chance to spawn four Ker shroud throughout the zone. Once four of them are killed, Ker will spawn.
If they spawn, the game will announce: "The minions of an extraordinarily powerful mark are on the hunt for prey."
They will withdraw exactly 5 minutes after this message if not engaged, or if disengaged by dying.
When all four are killed, Ker will spawn.

Spells

  • Heliovoid untelegraphed circle AoE slightly larger than the hitbox applying a Vulnerability Up.
  • Ancient Blizzard III is an untelegraphed donut AoE applying a Vulnerability Up.
  • Minax Glare is a spell applying Temporary Misdirection, making your every movement in a random direction.
  • Whispered Incantation applies a buff of the same name to Ker which commits the next offensive spell to memory.
  • Eternal Damnation Gaze type move that applies Doom to players who do not turn away.
  • Wicked Swipe leaps to a target and casts a small, telegraphed conal AoE.
  • Ancient Holy is a proximity AoE.
  • Ancient Flare applies Pyretic to the closest 32 targets, causing damage to be taken every time they attack. Sheathe near the end of the cast until it expires.
  • Fore Interment is a semi-circle AoE in front applying Vulnerability Up to those hit.
  • Rear Interment is a semi-circle AoE behind applying Vulnerability Up to those hit.
  • Right Interment is a semi-circle AoE to the right applying Vulnerability Up to those hit.
  • Left Interment is a semi-circle AoE to the left applying Vulnerability Up to those hit.
  • Whispers Manifest casts the remembered spell.
  • Mirrored Incantation grants stacks of Mirrored Incantation, which causes the next interment casts to be inverted and happen in the opposite direction of what they say.

Kill yourself at the spawn locations by equipping the Mended Imperial Pot Helm and the Mended Imperial Short Robe.

Spells

  • Magitek Compressor A rotating cross AoE. After five strikes, it'll immediately use the ability again in the opposite direction. Deals high damage and inflicts Minimum.
  • Accelerated Landing Faces a random direction and jumps a short distance, dealing high damage inside its hitbox. Used twice in a row.
  • Calculated Combustion Unavoidable large AoE on all nearby targets that will take advantage of their vulnerability stacks.
  • Soporific Gas Untelegraphed circle AoE around Armstrong which knocks back those hit and inflicts Heavy and Vulnerability Up.

These indicators are either rings that leave the Ruminator's hitbox safe, or melee-range circles centered on the Ruminator. The Ruminator will follow this ability up with either Chitinous Advance or Chitinous Reversal.
  • Chitinous Advance The AoEs telegraphed by Chitinous Trace occur in the order they appeared.
  • Chitinous Reversal The AoEs telegraphed by Chitinous Trace occur in reverse order, starting with last indicator displayed and ending with the first.
  • Stygian Vapor is an unavoidable large AoE.

  • Empty Promise is a donut AoE if the halo moves down to its body, enlarges and spins or is a small circle AoE if it clenches, holds the halo slanted and then moves a small halo furiously around the body.. Inflicts Vulnerability Up.
  • Vanishing Ray is an uncasted column AoE telegraphed by increasing the distance between its sides as if taking a deep breath. Inflicts Vulnerability Up.
  • Continual Meddling applies Forced March to the nearest targets. Look at your status effects to see which direction you will march in.
  • Empty Refrain executes one of the Empty Promise attacks, followed immediately be the other one. Remember the telegraph so you can march correctly for the first, then avoid the second.

  • Rock Throw targets a random player with a circle AoE. Telegraphs the first one, but not the ones that follow, so move away from where Sugriva faces.
  • Butcher is a tank buster on the main target.
  • Rip is an untelegraphed conal AoE aimed at the tank which immediately follows Butcher and applies Concussion, a damage-over-time.
  • Spark is a large donut AoE, but there is a large safe area around Sugriva so you do not have to be too close.
  • Scythe Tail charges at a random target, doing moderate damage, then casts a small, untelegraphed circle AoE around itself that deals heavy damage and applies a Vulnerability Up.
